FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything worth knowing before you download — what it does, what it costs, and how it stays yours alone.

Is HintFlow free?+

Yes. You can use HintFlow for free — unlimited practice on our fixed question bank, plus a taste of the core features. The free tier is genuinely useful on its own. Upgrading unlocks the parts that cost us real compute: personalized mock interviews, live Flow hints in the room, and Solver on your tests.

Who is HintFlow for?+

Candidates recruiting into finance — Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Quant, Asset Management, PE/HF, and consulting cases — in Hong Kong, London, New York and beyond. It's fully bilingual (English and 中文), tuned to the questions those desks actually ask.

Do I need headphones?+

Yes — please wear headphones. Right now HintFlow needs the interviewer's audio to reach your ears, not your microphone. On speakers, the interviewer's voice leaks back into your mic and muddies the transcription. The app checks for this and will prompt you if it looks like you're on speakers.

Is this for cheating in a real interview?+

No. HintFlow is a preparation tool — mock rounds, live practice with a study partner, and drills on real questions. Using it for undisclosed help in an actual interview, exam or assessment goes against our Terms of Service and isn't something we support or encourage.

Windows shows a "SmartScreen" warning when I open the installer — is that a virus?+

No, it's not a virus warning. Windows SmartScreen flags installers from newer publishers that haven't yet built up a reputation with Microsoft. Click More infoRun anyway to continue. We're working on code-signing to remove the prompt in a future release.

How do I get in touch?+

Anything at all — questions, bugs, feedback, partnerships — reach us at [email protected]. We read every message.
